Its goal is to advance the world\u2019s life sciences by facilitating collaborations among researchers sourced from diverse global locations. In light of its robust expertise in structural biology, we are dedicated to exploring academic fields that integrate structure and function across various scales, ranging from cells to living individuals. Additionally, we are focusing on fostering young and female researchers from Japan and abroad. IPR offers extensive support to national and international research communities, which includes providing access to large facilities, operating Protein Data Bank Japan(PDBj), and disseminating information by hosting seminars.\r\n            <\/p>\r\n          <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        <div class=\"joint_intro\">\r\n          <div class=\"content\">\r\n            <div class=\"joint_intro_sec\">\r\n              <h3 class=\"all_border_title\">\r\n                Main Activities (of the Joint Usage and Research Center for Proteins)\r\n              <\/h3>\r\n              <ol class=\"joint_intro_promo_list\">\r\n                <li>\r\n                  <div class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_head\">\r\n                    <p class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_number\">01<\/p>\r\n                    <h4 class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_title\">Joint usage of advanced facilities and equipment<\/h4>\r\n                  <\/div>\r\n                  <p class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_content all_text\">\r\n                    IPR provides access to its synchrotron beamline at SPring-8, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometers with ultra-high sensitivities, and Cryo-electron microscopes to protein researchers worldwide.\r\n                  <\/p>\r\n                <\/li>\r\n                <li>\r\n                  <div class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_head\">\r\n                    <p class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_number\">02<\/p>\r\n                    <h4 class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_title\">Access to databases<\/h4>\r\n                  <\/div>\r\n                  <p class=\"joint_intro_promo_list_content all_text\">\r\n                    IPR has developed a protein structural database (PDB: Protein Data Bank) as PDBj (PDB Japan), one of the four members of the wwPDB (worldwide PDB), by annotating the deposited data from structural biologists in Asia and Oceania and by providing several original services and derived databases.
