ポストゲノム時代において、近年プロテオーム解析の重要性が高まってきている。その主要な方法として、質量分析計(MS)が用いられ、微量化並びに定量化の検討が盛んに行なわれている。世界的に、データベース化―システム化の研究が進みつつある。プロテオーム解析研究には、新しい創薬ターゲットの発見や病気の早期診断・早期治療に対して明るい未来が期待されているが、その前途には、まだ越えなければならない多くのバリアーが待ちかまえている。一つは、システム構築であるが、その次が現状のシステムを用いた実用的な応用である。我々はデータ取得のための方法論を検討しつつ、プロテオーム解析の応用(診断、創薬、ヘルスケア)を試みている。この検討が、将来の新薬の開発に、さらには新しい病気の早期診断・早期治療のために貢献するものと考えている。

The proteome analysis is recently of growing importance in the post genomic era. As a key technology, mass spectrometry is commonly utilized and the scientific challenge for proteome analysis has been focused on the microanalysis and quantification. Recently, there’s been an increase of research into the construction of an appropriate database in the world. The analysis of the proteome

promises a revolution in the fields of drug discovery, diagnosis and therapeutics. However, there are many significant barriers to overcome, among which the construction and the practical application of an appropriate database and are the most demanding. We are trying to

apply the provisional proteome analysis for diagnosis, drug discovery and healthcare in parallel with research on the data acquisition for the construction of database. The development of these researches will contribute to proteome-based drug discovery, diagnosis and　therapeutics.
