Overview

The Institute for Protein Research (IPR) was established in 1958, the same year when the first successful structural analysis of a protein (myoglobin) was achieved. Over 60 years have passed since then, and today, protein science has reached a significant milestone, as symbolized by breakthroughs like AlphaFold and this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

What should the next decades of protein science look like? To explore this question, we will hold a conference under the theme, “Navigating through uncharted horizons of protein science”, from January 15 (Wednesday) to January 17 (Friday), 2025, at the Awaji Yumebutai International Conference Center.
