Proteins are essential for life by playing a major role in all of life’s processes, including biological morphogenesis, physiological function, and sensing the environment. Institute for Protein Research (IPR) of Osaka University has been focusing on protein research over 60 years. We elucidate protein structures, clarify protein functions, and generate new proteins using animals, plants, and microorganisms as research targets. IPR harbors world-leading facilities, top scientists, and cutting-edge technologies. We will change the future by protein research.
